In all Learning Areas students are encouraged to become involved in a broad range of pursuits which may take them beyond the set curriculum.
Additionally Oberon provides whole school programs aimed to excite, challenge and involve both students and teachers on a variety of levels. These include student exchanges, school production, debating, writing competitions, public speaking, Lions Youth of the Year, World Challenge Expedition and community service initiatives.
In offering a range of camps, tours and adventure-based experiences, the school recognises that these activities enhance a student’s personal and educational development. Camping programs or trips are offered at all year levels.
At Oberon High School, our Performing Arts Department is a vibrant hub of creativity and expression, offering students opportunities to shine in both music and drama. Our Music Program nurtures talent at all levels, providing pathways for solo and group performances that develop students’ technical skills and stage presence. Whether they’re part of a band, duo or pursuing individual instrumental mastery, students enjoy live performance opportunities that showcase their growth and passion.
Our Drama Program is equally dynamic, offering students the chance to immerse themselves in the world of theatre. Each year, our school production gives students the experience of working both on stage and behind the scenes. From auditions to final bows, participants gain valuable insights into every aspect of a production.
In addition to our annual productions, Oberon High School frequently hosts live performances and showcases, as well as attending external performances and development camps, ensuring that students have regular opportunities to perform in front of live audiences. These performances not only highlight their musical abilities but also help students build confidence and teamwork skills.
At Oberon High School, our Performing Arts Department is more than just a program—it’s a community where creativity flourishes, and every student has the chance to find their voice and passion on stage.
In recent years the school has been very successful in a wide variety of sporting pursuits. Sport can play a positive role in a young person’s life. The benefits of having a broad sporting program include a healthy lifestyle, skill development, along with learning the values of co-operation and competition.
